This project saw members of the EC team interview the ’owners’ of the software systems across the business ranging from core SAP ERP systems to desktop excel spreadsheets to understand whether the criticality of the systems to the business was in line with the systems capabilities. We also sought to identify any duplication of effort/data.
The analysis also identified some critical issues such as obsolete software and possible security concerns due to the age of some components as well as inefficiencies in operational processes due to the lack of automation.
From this analysis EC produced System Architecture and data catalogue of current data sources, along with documentation of the primary data flows making use of that data and an assessment of the data quality within those data sources.
The analysis provided our client with the insights in the systems and data used across the estate that was critical to informing their application and data strategy going forwards.
