In 1995, REED became the first high street recruitment agency in the UK to have a presence on the web. reed.co.uk is one of the UK’s leading job sites and is one of Europe’s biggest job boards.
The challenge:
The REED site has been continually developed since its initial launch. Still, it has needed to evolve new business models to compete with new market entrants and align with omni-channel service delivery.
A key challenge was to address data flow between teams and their integration with the AI/ML team, encouraging and facilitating collaboration to reduce friction and deliver measurable outcomes, such as new site features.
Our approach:
Elemental Concept provided expert technical and data architecture consultancy services, as well as event storming and value chain analysis, to understand the business domain and outline possible routes forward. A critical deliverable was a fully automated Kubeflow-based AI/ML CI pipeline that collected Production data, orchestrated model training and delivered updated models ready for use in the main site.
We also redesigned the monolith into distributed microservices, adopting an event-driven architecture and supporting the adoption of a Kong API Gateway.
The result:
Reed will be able to target new customers more effectively and automate the matching of roles to candidates more efficiently.
