Originally built by another consultancy, the portal allows NHS customers with respiratory conditions to schedule and manage oxygen deliveries. When the incumbent supplier exited the sector, Elemental Concept was engaged to take over support, maintenance, and ongoing development.

The challenge:

The system was business-critical, handling sensitive patient data across multiple NHS organisations. Maintaining uptime, addressing legacy performance issues, and ensuring compliance with ISO 27001 and NHS cybersecurity standards were key priorities.

Our approach:

We began with a full audit of the legacy application before transitioning it into our Application Support and Maintenance Services team. Our work focused on restoring system stability, managing incidents, and safeguarding data security. We established SLAs to address critical (P1) and high-priority (P2) issues, ensuring rapid response to outages, data corruption, or security exposures.

The results:

Elemental Concept restored platform reliability, ensured full compliance with NHS data protection standards, and provided a stable foundation for future enhancements. The portal now operates securely and efficiently, supporting uninterrupted access for patients and NHS staff across the UK.
